Training

As our business grows and we introduce new employees into the business, Artic prides itself on our continuous employee training, to enhance and support our employee’s current knowledge base and to ensure our clients and customers receive the highest level of support and service from everyone in the team.

In the last 2 months courses completed by our employees include:

First Aid:

We have provided various training in First Aid courses as the curriculum is updated on a regular basis. Rest assured that our courses will keep our staff up to date with best practices, as well as the latest guidelines from the Health and Safety Executive. The nature of a role within the Building Services Industry means HSE compliance standards vary depending on the level of risk especially for hazardous workplaces, therefore we provide different levels of practice.

Intro to Steam and Condensate Systems:

This course provides a broad understanding of the purpose and safe operational requirements of steam and condensate systems and factors affecting their performance and plant output. This is a new course to Artic as we build and broaden our in house knowledge and skills within the M&E industry. The course includes the fundamentals of steam and its uses, why condensate is formed, how and why to remove it, and its value in the steam cycle. The course covers the major components of the steam and condensate system, its importance and the best practice for steam installation. This course is focused to the needs of boiler chemistry, instrumentation, maintenance. The course is aimed at mechanical engineers and technicians involved in the selection, sizing, specification, installation, operation and maintenance of industrial steam and condensate systems.

Intro to Building Services:

Also in 2018 so far, new members of the team have completed our ‘Introduction to Building Services’ course. The aim of this module is to introduce the role of the modern building services engineer; why we need building services, what are they, what they look like and what they do.
“The course has really helped me to understand the basic principles of some of the mechanical and electrical systems we use. I feel more confident talking to clients and supporting their needs.” Said one of Artic’s employees who works in our Dartford office.
Due to high demand and continual growth of the business we will be running a second course this April, to ensure that our maintenance teams are trained to the highest standards.

Others:

We have also conducted more specialist courses specifically for our full-time engineers. This is to ensure we can provide our clients complete reassurance at all times. When we receive reactive calls, it is imperative that there is an engineer on hand to deal with these as they arise. We pride ourselves on providing the top service and minimal disruption to the running of their businesses. These include; IOSH Managing Safely, OFTEC oil 101, 105e and 600a, renewed Gas certificates (CONDNCO1, CORT1 and CIGA1), FGAS cat 4, IPAF 3(a) and 3(b), PASM, and a one day CSCS H&S course for Labourer card.

This is just the start of 2018, let’s continue to provide these types of training to ensure our standards are second to none. Keep up the good work!
