Artic awarded major NHS Facilities Management contract

Artic Building Services have announced the award of their largest single maintenance contract to date, valued at approximately £2.45 million per annum.

As part of a move to streamline the delivery of both hard and soft facility management services, the Lambeth, Southwark & Lewisham Facilities Management Service (LSL FMS) as the management agent for the Primary Care Trusts tendered for the provision of all building services through a single contracted service.

In the face of stiff competition and after a comprehensive tender process, a joint venture between Artic Building Services, Healthcare Initial and VSG was awarded the complete LSL facilities management contract.

For Artic Building Services the contract required the transfer of 20 engineers, administrators and managers responsible for the complete planned preventative maintenance programme including all reactive call-outs, grounds maintenance and security services to over 60 properties across the three Primary Care Trusts.

The range of skill sets required to deliver the works has been supplemented from the existing engineers and technicians within the company and once again demonstrates the strength of the Artic “grow your own” policy that has been at the core of its operation from its foundation.

Supported by an enhancement to its existing 24/7/365 helpdesk, the contract has very demanding Service Level Specifications that are rigorously monitored through a series of Key Performance Indicators that ensure the highest quality of service and value for money is delivered to the NHS at all times.

Because of the high quality of engineers, technicians and management systems already in place within the company, Artic Building Services has been able to meet all the demands of this contract from day one.
