Artic Secures NHS Partnership with North East London Foundation Trust
Artic is proud to share its NHS partnership with North East London Foundation NHS Trust for a 5 + 2-year term. As part of the contract with NELFT, Artic is overseeing large healthcare estates split across 2 different regions: Northeast London and Essex.
NELFT NHS specialises in providing an extensive range of mental health and expert services for children, young people and adults across its regions of care, covering a treatment population of an estimated 4.3 million patients. With a large treatment demand, NELFT hospital infrastructure is made up of many care wards and areas dedicated to supporting those in need.

Artic is managing the facilities of over 100 buildings with a committed team TUPE from the previous incumbent. At full strength, the NELFT team will embody technically expert engineers, as well as a fully dedicated office administrative team to support Artic’s specially recruited Contract Manager, David Willmott who will all be based permanently on site. The contract includes full PPM servicing for a variety of servicing covering all assets under the following scope:
- Boilers
- Generators
- Water Heaters
- AHU
- Calorifiers
- Heat Pumps
- CHP Units
- PAT Items
- Emergency Lighting
- Fans
- AC
Understanding the dynamic nature of the NELFT estates, special care will be taken by Artic’s Engineers and Management team to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all NELFT patients and staff. Having the key knowledge of NHS estates and infrastructure, Artic is looking forward to becoming a dependable, long-term partner to NELFT that ensures their sites remain compliant and operational to the highest standard.
Mobilising the Contract:
To ensure a successful and positive start, Artic ensured a thorough mobilisation process for the contract led by Artic’s Mobilisation Manager. This included a full office refurbishment at Goodmayes Hospital where their dedicated contract management team is based, as well as full site asset validation undertaken by Artic’s Mobilisation Supervisor that ensured all assets were correctly identified.
“Asset validation was a key component to ensuring a smooth transition into attending PPMs and for staff to easily identify plant if call outs are required. Our Supervisor John Tyler was dedicated to NELFT for 6-8 months to ensure everything was correctly captured. The validation provided NELFT with peace of mind knowing that all assets had been logged and will continue to be updated with the relevant details throughout their maintenance.” – Mobilisation Manager.
The Mobilisation team and Contract Manager, David Willmott, has worked closely with the NELFT team to ensure that everything is set up for an efficient start to the contract with close oversight and involvement from Artic’s Managing Directors. Alongside mobilisation of the contract, NELFT has requested for assistance from Artic’s Digital Transformation Team to support with their transition to an upgraded MRI system. Artic’s Head of CAFM and Helpdesk, Daniel Anderson, has been collaborating closely with NELFT’s team, using its specialised knowledge of MRI Evolution to ensure Artic still received callouts which were logged and distributed correctly to be attended during the system updates, ensuring minimal delays.
Supporting Dynamic Healthcare Environments
Artic is committed to supporting NELFT in all their critical areas and looking forward to building on its strong NHS partnership, dedicated to supporting the needs of the Trust for its facilities and beyond.
